WHAT DOES YOUR TITLE MEAN TO YOU?

I do whatever it takes to keep things moving in the right direction, and look for ways my team can move faster. If we're blocked on something, whether it is a server that needs to get set up or a process that needs to be refined, I find ways to remove the blockage. There will always be obstacles and times when someone's veered off the trail a bit, and I'm here making sure we're staying the course and building momentum every step of the way. What is it that Dori says in Finding Nemo? "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming."

 

WHAT DREW YOU TO MARCHEX INITIALLY?

Marchex is a really dynamic place to be, and I was drawn to Marchex because I knew that I would be in a place where taking ownership of projects, processes and your work was rewarded and encouraged.

 

WHAT KEEPS YOU UP AT NIGHT?

What keeps me up at night is wondering whether or not I am blocking the team. People rely on me to get them answers, to provide information they need to do their work and to know what's happening at all times.

 

WHAT KIND OF PERSON SUCCEEDS IN YOUR ROLE AT MARCHEX?

Program Management at Marchex means being flexible and able to think on your feet - you won't cross the same river twice here and need to be able to context switch on a dime, yet remain consistent. Technical skills are nice to have here but the "softer" skills like being able to communicate with a wide and diverse audience is really key to success.

 

WHAT'S YOUR BIGGEST SUCCESS TO DATE AT MARCHEX?

Helping to ship our Pay-For-Call Product has definitely been a huge success. Just being part of a team and a business that iss really being built from the ground up. It is amazing to see the passion and amount of work that dedicated people bring.

 

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOURSELF WHEN YOU'RE NOT WORKING?

I have an amazing family that really enriches my life. So my time outside of work is spent spending time with my partner cooking, hiking and visiting my nephews. And when I'm not doing those things, you can find me in a quiet corner with a good book.
